The pages you can read without practising — the home page, the syllabus, the pricing page, this one — set no cookies, run no analytics, and embed no advertising or social tracking pixels. Fonts are served from this domain rather than a third party. If you only read, we never learn you were here.

Practising

Recording an answer is different, and this is the part worth reading properly. When you practise:

• Your voice is recorded and uploaded. The audio goes to private storage that is not publicly reachable. It is sent to OpenAI to be turned into Japanese text.
• The audio is then deleted. Once your transcript exists and the assessment of it has been saved, the recording is removed. We do not keep it, and there is currently no option to opt into keeping it.
• Your transcript is sent to Anthropic to be assessed, and is stored here along with the assessment, what you wrote at the repair step, and which version of the model and rubric produced it.
• One cookie, and it is not for tracking. A signed, http-only cookie holds a random identifier for your practice session, so the work survives you refreshing the page. It carries nothing else. Signing in adds a second one holding your account identifier.
• Which steps you reached. We record events like “started recording” and “viewed feedback”, server-side, to see where people give up. No third-party analytics script runs on any page of this site.

If you don’t create an account

You can record an answer and read the assessment without giving us an email address. That work belongs to an anonymous session, and if you never come back it is deleted automatically within 24 hours — the recording, the transcript, and the assessment. Creating an account attaches that same session to you instead, and it is then kept until you ask us to delete it.

Don’t tell it anything confidential

You are practising job-interview answers, so it is natural to talk about real employers and real projects. Please don’t name confidential clients, unreleased work, or anyone else’s personal details. Your answers are stored and are read by a person during quality review, and this is a beta rather than a system built for commercially sensitive information.

Who else sees it

• OpenAI — receives your audio to transcribe it.
• Anthropic — receives your transcript and the scenario to assess it.
• Supabase — stores the database, the audio while it briefly exists, and account records.
• Brevo — delivers the sign-in code to your email address.
• Vercel — hosts the site and keeps short-lived server logs including IP addresses, as any web server does.
• Kit — holds the waitlist mailing list, if you joined it. It receives nothing about your practice.

Nothing is sold, rented, or passed to anyone beyond those processors. During this beta your transcripts and assessments are read by us to check whether the feedback is any good — that review is the only reason a human looks at them.

Training

Your recordings and transcripts are not used to train any model of ours, and we do not have one. They are sent to OpenAI and Anthropic only to produce your transcript and your assessment.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold, correct it, or delete it, at any time and without giving a reason. Write to hello@workreadyjapanese.com. Deleting your account removes your transcripts and assessments. We keep the record that a piece of feedback was reviewed and whether it was judged accurate, with no content and nothing identifying you attached — that record is how we tell whether the assessment is getting better or worse over time.

If you are in the UK, EU, or Japan, the legal basis is your consent: given when you record an answer or join the waitlist, and withdrawable at any time by writing to us or unsubscribing.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Material changes affecting information we already hold will be emailed to you rather than quietly published here.
